A 99-acre environmental area preserve located between Amery and Balsam Lake along the Balsam Branch which flows through central Polk County. Located 17 minutes from Saint Croix Falls.

The park includes a prairie restoration area with hiking trails (interpretive) with native grasses, wildflowers, and birds, fishing (bridge and handicap accessible pier), dam and millpond, education building, picnic area with grills, picnic shelter with electric, playground, and restroom.

  Shelter with electric and picnic tables. New playground equipment and bathrooms with flushable toilets and running water. Shelters are available to reserve for $50 per day from May 1st thru October 31st. Go to Park Shelter Reservations to reserve a shelter. You will receive signs to post on the day of your event.
 
Education BuildingPhotoDDKennedyEducationBuilding   The Education Building is available to rent at $100 a day, plus a refundable deposit of $150. The building has electric and holds about 30 people and includes 8 tables, 48 folding chairs, and 3 benches. Go to Park Shelter Reservations to reserve a shelter. You will receive signs to post on the day of your event.

Ch. 26Art. III - Park Use Regulations

Hours
All parks, special use areas and waysides shall be open to the public throughout the year during the hours between 6:00 a.m. and 10:00 p.m. each day. No person may enter or be on such lands outside of those hours except for campers in or those who are in route to designated campgrounds or persons transporting watercraft to and from designated boat landings. For purposes of this subsection, the time shall be computed under Wis. Stats. § 175.09 or 175.095, whichever is applicable.

Rules
No person shall operate or play any devise in a loud manner. No person shall erect signs, placards or notices unless authorized by the Polk County Parks Department. No person shall start, tend or maintain a fire except in charcoal grills or fire rings. No person shall disturb wildlife, pick wildflowers or otherwise damage the flora & fauna. No person shall damage any park equipment, structures, signs etc.. No person shall operate vehicles in a reckless manner; park or drive in unauthorized areas. No person shall utilize facilities or trails without paying the proper fees or acquiring trail passes. No person shall clean fish in picnic areas, shelters, restrooms or near wells in any county park. No person shall have pets unless on a leash of less than 8' or allow them to disturb the enjoyment of other person. It is unlawful to use any trail for any purpose or at any time other then posted. No camping in County Parks unless otherwise posted. It is unlawful for any person to have a firearm in his or her possession or under his or her control in any park, wayside or special use area. Firearm or air gun is defined in Sec. 939.22(2), Wis. Stats., or any bow, crossbow or slingshot, unless it is unstrung and enclosed in a carrying case.
