Polk County Treatment Court Receives $1000 Donation from Local Tavern League
BALSAM LAKE, Wisconsin, July, 17, 2023— The Polk County Treatment Court is delighted to announce the receipt of a $1000 donation from the Polk County Tavern League. This generous contribution will provide support in the ongoing efforts to promote rehabilitation, recovery, and transformation within our community.
The Polk County Treatment Court is a program under the Criminal Justice Coordinating Council (CJCC), and has been a beacon of hope and transformation for individuals struggling with addiction and substance abuse. Through their partnerships with prosecutors, public defenders, probation officers, social workers, and other justice system partners, the Treatment Court provides a treatment program to assist participants from abstaining from repeating the behaviors that brought them to court.
Through their donation, the Polk County Tavern League has demonstrated their commitment to creating a safer and healthier environment for everyone in Polk County. CJCC Coordinator Melissa Fisher accepted the $1000 check on Thursday.
“The generous donation from the Polk County Tavern League allows the treatment court team to host sober events and provide other rewards for participants’ successes in the program,” said Fisher.

The mission of the Polk County CJCC is to reduce crime and recidivism in Polk County through programming such as the Treatment Court, which aims to reduce the destructive cycle of substance use and mental health disorders. By providing a structured program, CJCC aims to address the root causes of criminal behavior and foster lasting rehabilitation and recovery.
