Food Protection Manager Certification

teaserbox_2599904104Per Wisconsin Statutes Chapter 97.33 and the adoption of the Wisconsin Food Code applicable to all food establishments, EACH licensed food establishment is required to have at least one Certified Food Protection Manager on staff (preferably the owner or manager to avoid loss of this person due to employment changes).

Each Certified Food Protection Manager license is valid for five years from the date of issuance.

The operator or manager of an establishment that is new or undergoing a change of operator must become certified within 90 days after the business opens. This requirement is applicable with the effective date of the Wisconsin Food Code.

To obtain a Certified Food Protection Manager license, you must first pass a DATCP approved examination. Approved courses are listed here.

The ServSafe Manager course is now available online. Since the exam is required to be proctored, we are now offering a time for those of you that only need to take the proctored exam. For current exam session information, see the uploaded documents below. These sessions fill up quickly. If you need to take the ServSafe Food Protection Manager Certification Examination, please fill out the form and mail it in with payment. If you have further questions, please contact the Health Department at 715-485-8400.
